fascinating and horrible ideas for fantasy TTRPGs

Insightful

Your attack gives you insight into your target’s tactics. Your AC increases by 2 for 1d4 rounds.

Harried

Your attack hits so hard that your target can’t think straight. The next ally of yours who attacks that target gets advantage.

Hurray!

Your wonderous magical hit bolsters your allies with toughness and resolve. Any allies within 30 feet of you gain 5 temporary hit points.

Acid bath

A bubble of acid materializes in front of your target and hits them for 2d6 damage.

What animal are you thinking of?

Your target transforms into the first animal you think of. Depending on their alignment and disposition, they may hop away or fight you.

Open the Floodgates

Your magic reacts with some droplets of water in the air, spontaneously producing a small flood. 10 gallons of water hits your target, doing 2d6 force damage and knocking them prone.

Sonic boom

Your strike hits with such force that it unleashes a powerful resonance centered on your target. Your target and anyone (including you) within 5 feet is knocked prone and takes 1d6 thunder damage.

The Devil’s Double

A mirror image of you appears twenty feet in front of you and mimics all your actions. Opponents must succeed on a Perception roll against your spell save DC to determine if their target is the illusion. Only on a success, can anyone attack you. Duration: 1 minute.

Sliding doors

Something in your magic allows you to step out of time, take a second attack, and then return to your body in your time.

Funny bone

You hit your target right in the elbow (or whatever part of their body they use to control their attacks). They lose proficiency in their weapon and any spell that requires somatic components for 1d6 rounds.

Take flight

Your magic interacts with a wing feather of a bird floating through the air and the spell Fly is cast upon you. For 1d4 rounds, you gain a flying speed of 60 feet. When the spell ends, you fall if you are still aloft, unless you can stop the fall.

Arc reaction

Your spell surges as you cast and arcs off your first target to hit another and deal the same damage.
